The Scriptures
We believe the 66 Books of the Old and New Testaments in the Bible to be the complete Holy Scriptures – God’s written revelation to us (I Thessalonians 2:13; Revelation 22:18-19).
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21), and God’s preservation of His pure words to every generation (Matthew 5:18; 24:35).
The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use.
The King James Version of the Bible is the official English version we accept and use in public preaching and teaching.
The Bible is true in all matters of which it speaks, and is our sole authority for faith and practice.
The Godhead
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that God created the Earth and all things on it in six literal days. We reject evolution and all theories that try to blend creation with evolution (Genesis 1–2).
We believe God, being all-powerful and our Creator, has the right to declare what is right and what is wrong. These declarations in Scripture include His definition of lawful marriage as between one man and one woman; His determination of gender as male or female; and His declaration that life begins at conception (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4–6; Luke 1:41, 44; Romans 9:10–12).
The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became fully human without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1–2, 14; Philippians 2:5–8; Galatians 4:4–5).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His finished work on the cross as a vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Romans 3:24–25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3–5; 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate (Acts 1:9–10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1–2).
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, indwelling and sealing believers unto the day of redemption (John 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13–14).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ baptizes all believers in the Holy Spirit the moment they receive Him as Savior, uniting all believers spiritually with Christ in Heaven (Matthew 3:11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
We believe baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from the filling of the Holy Spirit. Believers are not commanded to seek the baptism but are commanded to be filled (Ephesians 5:18).
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all true believers, enabling them to understand and obey the Scriptures. God desires all believers to live in victory over sin and has provided for victory over the sin nature, the world system, and the devil (Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 6:10–20; 1 John 2:16).
We believe certain gifts of the Holy Spirit were temporary and intended as a sign to Israel during the Apostolic age. Speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit. Ultimate healing awaits resurrection, though God may answer prayers for healing (Mark 16:17–20; 1 Corinthians 1:22; 13:8; 14:21–22; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Hebrews 2:3–4).
Man
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell through Adam’s sin, inheriting a sinful nature and becoming alienated from God, unable to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:22–23; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12).
Every individual has value because they are made in God’s image and Christ died for them; therefore, all deserve to hear the Gospel (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:4–9; Matthew 28:18–20).
The Way of Salvation
We believe salvation comes only through personal faith in the Gospel, resulting in being born again (1 Corinthians 15:1–4; John 3:3).
Salvation requires repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21) and is entirely by grace.
Any requirement of works for salvation (including baptism, church membership, or sacraments) is a false gospel (John 1:12; Galatians 1:8; 2:21; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Peter 1:18–19).
We believe believers are justified by faith alone and made righteous through Christ’s righteousness, given as a gift (Romans 3:22; 5:15–18).
All believers are eternally secure, kept by God’s power, and possess eternal life now (John 5:24; 6:37–40; 10:27–30; Romans 8:35–39; 1 Peter 1:4–5).
The Church
We believe the local church is God’s ordained institution for this age, distinct from Israel and the Millennial Kingdom, and central to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 9:31; 14:27; 15:41; 20:17, 28–32; Romans 16:16; 1 Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:5–11; Revelation 1:11, 20).
We believe in the autonomy of the local church without external control (Acts 13:1–4; 15:19–31; 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1–4).
We recognize believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:41–42; 18:18; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).
Biblical Separation
We believe believers should live in a way that honors Christ, separating from apostasy and sinful practices (2 Timothy 3:1–5; Romans 12:1–2; 14:13; 1 John 2:15–17; 2 John 9–11; 2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1).
We believe Satan is a real being who opposes God and believers (Ezekiel 28:13–15; 2 Corinthians 4:2–4; 11:1–4).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the literal, personal, visible, imminent return of Christ. He will rapture His church before the tribulation and return afterward to establish a thousand-year reign (Psalm 89:3–4; Zechariah 14:4–11; 1 Corinthians 15:50–53; Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13–18; Revelation 3:10; 19:11–16; 20:1–6).
Our Eternal State
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people—believers to eternal life and unbelievers to judgment and punishment (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28–29; 11:25–26; Revelation 20:5–6, 12–13).
Believers go immediately into the presence of the Lord at death and await resurrection and glorification (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 3:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:4–6).
Unbelievers remain in conscious punishment until final judgment, after which they are cast into the Lake of Fire for eternal punishment (Matthew 25:41–46; Mark 9:43–48; Luke 16:19–26; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–9; Jude 6–7; Revelation 20:11–15).
